Director General, Central Statistics Bureau, Kuwait
Born in Kuwait, Mr. Othman Abdullah Al-Othman is the Acting General Director of the Central Statistical Bureau of the State of Kuwait. He obtained his Bachelor of Economics and Accounting in 1988. Since August 2016, he occupies the position of Assistant Under-Secretary of Administrative Support and Information Sector. In 1988, he started his professional career as a Statistical Researcher. Following this, in 1992, Mr. Al-Othman was appointed as Head of Industry and Construction Statistics Section, and Acting Head of Trade and Services Section. After holding this post for 14 years, Mr. Al-Othman was appointed Supervisor of Statistical Research. In 2011, he was assigned as Acting Director of the Economic Statistics Department. He became the Director of the Economic Statistics Department in 2013.
His most significant achievements include the supervision of the CSB economic construction annual research work team, and the oversight and follow-up of the publishment of professional economic bulletins: Industry, Construction and Building, Services, Trade, Financial Services, and Non-profit Organizations bulletins. Moreover, he contributed in preparation and construction of the actual and estimated supply and use tables for 2000.
